Today in class I had some catching up to do and didn't manage to completely finish the tasks we were required to do in this lesson. In this lesson we were required to 'Justify our Product' this meant we had to answer the questions 'Why have I chosen to create my product this way' and 'Why is this the best way to create my product' I initally had no idea what the difference was between these two questions or how to answer them and even asking around the class, not many people were sure of this either. So I chose to catch up on the parts of the headstart booklet which I hadn't completed as yet. I still had to find some more information from the research section of the booklet. I found a really good website which defined fashion photography and then I went on to take down some ' fashion photography tips'. Eventually I managed to answer the first of the questions for the Justification which was 'Why have I chosen to create my product this way' I basically answered this by explaining how I will be creating my product and then why I think this will be a good way to create it. Once I answered this question I wasn't sure on how I could've answered the next question because I felt like it was asking the exact same thing as the first question. I am happy that during this lesson I managed to find a good definition and background to fashion photofraphy here is what I found:
"Fashion photography is the area of photography that concentrates on taking pictures of clothing or accessories (on models or alone) to be published in fashion magazines, advertisements, or circulated among designers. Adolphe De Meyer is credited as the first fashion photographer for Vogue in 1913. Modern fashion photography can be done with a commercial or aesthetic twist. Fashion photography tends to be a credible watermark of beaty ideals of a given era aswell as an indicator of the political or social climate. For example with the enduring Iraq war fashion trends and consequentially fashion photography trends display a remarkable increase in fatigue-print clothing"
- I found this definition and background information here.
